About the Event

This is a fantastic opportunity to attend a Teaching Orienteering part 1 course, which will give you the skills and confidence to introduce people to the port of orienteering, and support them as they progress. It covers everything from what is orienteering, through to teaching methods and how to access clubs and events.

Course Details

Date: Saturday 18th October 2014

Time: TBC (please contact for more information)

Venue: Integrated College Dungannon

Cost: FREE

In order to attend this course you must be a volunteer or a staff member in a community organisation. You also must be over 18 years old.

Map-reading or prior orienteering experience is beneficial, but not essential.

NI Orienteering Association and Outdoor Recreation NI have teamed up to offer this opportunity to community organisations at no cost. However, one of the long term goals of NIOA is to increase the number of mapped areas in which people can participate in orienteering. NIOA will offer your organisation the opportunity to access subsidised (but not free) mapping services, in the hope that your community facility or nearby public area might be used for orienteering by both you and others.

Who Should Attend

What to Bring
