Route Description
This is a particularly popular walking route amongst visitors with an interest in arboriculture and horticulture.
The tree canopy, which will close over time following recent regeneration, will create a woodland floor with anemone, bluebells, native foxgloves etc.
In conjunction with The Woodland Trust, Montalto have recently planted thousands of native whips (young trees), which will ensure that this area will continue to develop for many years to come.
There is evidence that this trail is on the site of an ancient historic woodland. This can be determined as a result of some of the native wildflowers found here.
