About the Group

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am the Community Walk Leader for Walk & Positive Talk, Dundrum. I decided to set up the group as I love to walk around the beautiful spots in Dundrum, but find walking alone, a bit intimidating for such secluded areas. With the autumn season drawing in, Walk & Positive Talk, will focus on mental and physical well-being and is the perfect opportunity to get active, meet new people and chat.

This is a new monthly walking group starting on Sunday 5th September at 6 pm for a 6.15 pm start. The meeting point is at the front of Keenan's Commercials opposite the Dundrum Inn on Main St and will end here at 7.15 pm.

The group is limited to 10 people per walk over the age of 18. I would encourage Males & Females of all ages and abilities to come together and leave all political/personal/religious beliefs and covid talk at home. Masks don't need to be worn but social distancing will be adhered to. Spaces are limited please register your details via email, you will be placed on a waiting list for the next walk and contacted in due course.

Special routes can be applied for anyone with access needs, please get in touch to let me know the details.

Feel free to bring a flask of something warm to enjoy at the picnic area behind the meeting point, after the walk, should you choose to do so.

Where We Usually Walk

The group will walk for approx 1 hour at a leisurely pace along different terrains including beach, forest, grass, and tarmac. Walkers will be encouraged to lift any pieces of rubbish from along the route in a bid to do something positive for the environment as we walk. Please bring your own rubbish bags and pickers/gloves.

Walkers should wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking comfortably. Other items that may be useful are; bottled walker, snacks and possibly a torch for the darker winter months.

There will be opportunities for short breaks along the way for anyone who may need them.
